A Sweet Way to Add Meaning to a Baby Shower
Baby showers can be joyful, chaotic, sentimental, and full of anticipation all at once. We spend so much time picking the perfect gifts and planning the menu that sometimes we forget how grounding it is to invite people into a shared moment. A simple activity helps settle the room and gives guests something to do with their hands while they shake off the hustle outside.
Our Make a Block for Baby activity was created with that feeling in mind. Every guest chooses a wooden block, decorates it with the included paper circles and letter stickers, and signs their name. When all the blocks are gathered together, they form a keepsake set that carries the fingerprints and encouragement of every person who showed up to celebrate this new little life.
The ready-made kit includes everything you need. We added a few small touches from our own trial runs, like encouraging hosts to set out a clear vase for finished blocks and offering guidance on sealing the blocks if they are going to be played with later. Those details came from real gatherings and the shared wisdom of many Busy Bees.
Every kit includes
- Twelve1.5 inch wooden blocks
- Full alphabet A-Z (plus an extra B so you can spell Baby)
- Numbers 0-9
- Themed paper discs to create countless patterns
- 100 Glue dots for mess-free creating
- 2 markers for guests to sign their blocks
- A 5x7 frameable instruction card to complete the display
- A 8.5x11 tip sheet and how-to guide.
This activity has been loved by hosts because it invites connection and keeps the shower moving at a thoughtful pace. Once the blocks are complete, place them in a clear vase or display container to hand to the honoree after the celebration.
